The 2026 AEpiA Conference marks a major milestone in Australasian epigenetics, bringing together researchers across diverse fields including cancer biology, developmental biology, computational genomics, transcription factor biology, chromatin architecture, and multi-omics technologies. This year, the conference will be held at the National Wine Centre in the city of Adelaide, a spectacular and central location for Australasia to come together. This three-day event will highlight the newest advances, emerging technologies, and paradigm-shifting discoveries in epigenetic control across health, disease, and evolution.

Conference themes include:

  • Chromatin and Genome Regulation

  • Epigenetics in Cancer and Disease

  • Single-cell and Spatial biology

  • Transcription Factors and Regulatory Networks

  • Structural Epigenetics

  • Environmental and Developmental Epigenetics

  • Translational Epigenetics and Therapeutics

The event will feature:

  • Keynote and plenary lectures by global leaders

  • Oral presentations and lightning talks

  • Early Career Researcher sessions

  • Poster sessions and exhibitor showcases

  • Networking events, engagement panels, and more!

About AEpiA

AEpiA exists to foster excellence in epigenetics research across Australia, New Zealand and the broader Asia-Pacific region. AEpiA is a community-driven initiative uniting scientists working across the full spectrum of epigenetics—from genome architecture and chromatin biology to gene regulation and transcriptional control.

Founded in 2008, AEpiA was established by a coalition of leading epigenetics researchers seeking to build a vibrant, interconnected network across disciplines, institutions, and nations. AEpiA became an Incorporated Association in 2023, reflecting its growing membership, strategic vision, and commitment to long-term development of epigenetics in Australasia. The society now has over 150 scientists across Australia and the world.

AEpiA is committed to building collaborative networks, promoting innovative science, mentoring emerging researchers, and engaging with industry and the public to translate epigenetic discoveries into real-world impact. It has played a central role in supporting national events, promoting early-career development, and advocating for the critical role of epigenetics in modern biomedicine.

Acknowledgement of Country

The Australasian Epigenetics Alliance acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and Aotearoa/New Zealand and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their Elders past, present and emerging and extend that respect to all First Nations people today.
